Heroic

I’m in an abusive relationship with a show called Heroes and I am having the time of my life. Heroes brutally beats my sense of logic into submission every Monday evening, but it only does it because it loves me. At every commercial break my mouth is left agape at the latest of its unending parade of inexplicable plot-twists. Here is why I love Heroes so:
- Hereos is colorful.
- Heroes is broadcast in HD.
- Hayden Panettiere is roughly my age and I live in Los Angeles.
- Heroes captures the convoluted, plot-hole-ridden, pointlessly violent craziness of the comic books that I always wish I had taken the time to read. (Should I bother with Civil War at this point, anyone?)
Heroes is simply the perfect blend of awesome/triumphant stupidity. There’s no understanding it and there’s no chance of replicating it. The combination of flaws and successes that keep Heroes incredible is like the combination of diseases that keep Mr. Burns alive. They’re all trying so vigorously to get through the door that they just cancel each other out. There’s a certain osmosis to Heroes. In fact, even the slightest breeze could- completely invincible… So just enjoy the ride, kids, and don’t worry about the whiplash you’ll suffer when it eventually comes to a ruinous, grinding halt around season five.

I just subscribed to your blog for the comic that you do, and this single post justifies it completely. I too have a inexplicable love for heroes. I do believe that Hayden is amazing and your ability to mix insanity with simpsons reference/logic impresses me.
Continue to do what you do best, I shall comment on the awesomeness.

Your description of Heroes is spot-on. Those are, in fact, the very reasons I stopped watching it after the first season. Don’t get me wrong, I’m glad the show still has fans to abuse every week. I’m just glad I escaped.

You got out while you still could. More power to you.
